What Type of Oil Should I Use?

At Express Oil Change and Tire Engineers you don't have to worry about this as we only put in the exact oil specified by the manufacturer. This is the safe way to go. Occasionally we have a customer that wants to put in the cheapest conventional oil. This is disaster to your engine. When engines are designed, engineers take into account many factors in the design and come up with the best oil. The oil has to be effective on cold start-ups as well as operation at high temperatures. The weight of the oil also depends on bearing clearances for your rod and main crankshaft clearances. Our data base contains these exact manufacturer's specifications for oil type and weight. We always advise you of what we are putting in your engine. Please do not request anything less as this will cause irreparable damage to your engine.

You can also put in a better oil than what is specified, namely synthetic. All new cars specify a synthetic blend (Maxlife) or a full synthetic. You can get even better protection by using the full synthetic oil. We have a coupon on our website for a discount when upgrading. If you have an older vehicle that calls for conventional oil, you should consider upgrading to at least a synthetic blend (Maxlife).
